Villa
di Riboia is located a few minutes away from the medieval town of Impruneta
which is considered one of the gateways to the renowned region of Chianti.
Impruneta is a small village full of treasures : its
Basilica of S. Maria of Impruneta, which has been restored and renovated
a number of times over the centuries and embellished with some fine works
of art. Inside there are enamel terracottas by Luca della Robbia in the
chapels which were designed by Michelozzi, on each side of the presbytery,
and there are some 17 C paintings including "The Nativity of the
Virgin" by Passignano, "The Martyrdom of St. Sebastian"
by Matteo Rosselli and "The Vocation of St. Peter" by Jacopo
Chimenti known as Empoli.

Continuing on SS 222, better known as the Road of Wine
that from Florence reaches Siena, you come across, one after one all the
small villages of the region such as Greve, Panzano, Radda e Castellina,
in the middle of the most beautiful landscape where everything is devoted
to the making of the Chianti wine. Infact along the road many are the
wineries open all year round for wine tasting and tours of the cellars.
On S. 222, just 12 km. From Villa di Riboia there is also the enchating
Country Club of Ugolino, renowned destination for those
who love golf and would want to spend some ours around the 18 holes of
this spectacular course. The clubhouse was built by Architect Gerardo
Bosio who designed a structure fully functional and enjoyable to this
day. It is one of the best examples of rationalist architecture and is
catalogued and protected by the Department of Fine Arts. Ugolino is largely
synonymous with Italian golfing history; on its fairways along the Via
Chiantigiana many competitions and national championships have taken place
and players of both national and international reputation have played
